Why You’ll Never See More Than 40 Children a Day at Kiddo Club

(And why that’s very good news for your child — and for you.)

At Kiddo Club, we made a decision early on that has shaped everything we do.

We will never take more than 40 children a day at any of our clubs.
Not because we’re limited by space. Not because it’s easier.
But because we know that keeping things small is the best way to make them really good.

Holiday clubs shouldn’t feel overwhelming. They shouldn’t feel noisy, rushed, or like a place where your child is just one in a crowd.
They should feel warm, calm, exciting and full of the kind of magic that happens when children are genuinely known and cared for.

Here’s why small works — and why we’re sticking with it.

We actually know your child’s name

And not just because they’re wearing a bright “Hello My Name Is” sticker.
At Kiddo Club, many of our team already know the children before they even arrive — whether from term-time wraparound care, school partnerships or just from being part of the local community.
We chat to them, listen to them, and genuinely get to know what makes them tick.
When you’re working with just 40 children a day, you don’t need a name tag to keep up. You just know. And we really do.

You can talk to us — and we’ll know who you are too

We’re the kind of club where parents and carers can actually speak to someone who’s been in the room, seen the moment, and can tell you how the day went. No inbox shuffles, no customer service scripts. Just real people, looking after your real child.

Smaller numbers mean calmer kids

Children thrive in spaces where they feel safe, supported and not overwhelmed. With fewer children, transitions are smoother, behaviour is more settled, and everyone gets the attention they need to shine.
It also helps that many of our staff are experienced childcare professionals who know how to spot the early signs of upset, manage behaviour with care and confidence, and create a calm, supportive atmosphere.
It’s better for the children. It’s better for the grown-ups. It’s better for the day.

Our planning is packed with heart

We’re not running off a national template. Every session is planned in-house by a small team who love what they do and care deeply about doing it well.
We plan activities that are creative, meaningful and actually fun — and we tweak things based on who’s coming and what they’ll enjoy. We’ve had full discussions over whether balloon archery or natural weaving is more exciting. (We’re doing both.)

Every day includes genuine choice

We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all days. Our programme always includes a mix of creative, active, outdoor and hands-on fun — so children can find what lights them up and get stuck in.
Whether they’re sporty, arty, science-obsessed or just want to dig in the mud, there’s something they’ll love. And because we’re small, they don’t get lost on the way to it.

We’re part of the community

We live here. We work here. We bump into our families in the park and at the school gate. Our staff are the familiar faces your child knows from term time.
We’re not just here for the school holidays. We’re here for your family.

We don’t want to be huge. We want to be brilliant

We’re not chasing size. We’re chasing joy.
We want our clubs to feel like places where children have unforgettable days and come home grubby, happy and full of stories.
That only happens when you keep things small enough to care about the details.

So yes, our cap is 40 children a day
Because that’s the number where the magic happens.
The number that lets us be fully present, properly prepared and personally connected to every child in the room.

We think that matters.
And we think your child will feel the difference.
